The Familiar & The Forgotten
Deliverables:

Book Design
Brand Identity

Project Overview:

The Familiar & The Forgotten highlights the American experience through the lens of photographers from 1970 onwards. The work of these selected artists showcases the beauty in the monotony of day-to-day life in America. This project encouraged me to research, curate, and create around a strong concept, developing a system that was both flexible and succinct.

The idea for this project came to me during a day-long drive. I was struck by the vast, empty spaces of the landscape sprinkled with the relics of human interaction. And so I set out to celebrate these moments through a fictional exhibition of my own curation.

The design system for the book is straightforward, juxtaposing bold sans with delicate serifs. It is meant to provide structure within which the photographs could truly shine.
